The Work That Goes Into Prepping for a Test Launch

When people start owning your idea before you've even launched, you know you're building something real
David Kuria
It's been a while since I last wrote.
And saying that I'm excited right now would be an understatement.
I love building things. But when building is paired with the chance to change lives? That's a different kind of fire.
A friend once told me that when you're eagerly waiting for something, the best part is actually the waiting, the process, the anticipation, the unseen work happening quietly in the background. As the devs continue shaping the front end, I've come to truly understand what he meant.
There's still a lot of work to do. And that's the beautiful part.
And there's still a lot of work to do.
When the brand comes to life
Last week, we printed our cards and stickers.
It felt incredible seeing our brand on paper, not just on screens. There's something powerful about holding physical proof of what you're building. Something that quietly says, "This is real. This is happening."

It's a small thing. But it's also everything.
Until that moment, Roundi lived in code, conversations, Figma files, and late-night planning sessions. Now it exists in the real world. You can touch it. You can hand it to someone.
That shift matters more than I expected.
The Moment You Realize People Are Claiming It
Here's what's been the real blessing:
Hearing people casually associate us with the name Roundi.
Having conversations about the possibilities.
Watching them get excited about what we're building, before they've even used it.
That's when you realize you're building something people will own.
Not just use.
Own.
There's a difference.
When someone says, "Oh, you're the Roundi guys," or asks, "So how's Roundi coming along?"—they're not just talking about a product. They're invested. They're already part of the story.
And that's the goal, isn't it? To build something people feel connected to before it even launches.
To create something that doesn't just solve a problem, but becomes part of how they see the future.
Why the Waiting Matters
My friend was right about the waiting.
It isn't just a countdown to launch day. It's the season where you refine, where you listen, where you replace assumptions with real insight. It's where the brand slowly stops being yours and starts becoming ours.
And when strangers begin talking about your company like they're part of the team, you know you're onto something real.
What's next
We are working on a better launch for January.
We're still working. Still refining. Still printing stickers. Still having conversations that fuel the vision. But we're not waiting alone anymore.
We're building this together.
